Introduction

Inspired by Beyerdynamics’ classic ‘80s models, the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO is a polished, practical, does-what-it-says-on-the-tin kind of headset dedicated to loyal fans. With Tesla technology, these ‘diffuse-field equalized headphones follow in the footsteps of the DT 990 and 770 developed in 1985 for audiophiles and sound engineers alike. This German company was founded long before Sennheiser developed their first headphones, but these two have been going toe-to-toe to conquer the global market ever since.

Beyerdynamic envisioned the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 Ohm headphones as a premium studio mixing headset accessible to those who don’t have an urge to splash out, but still want their headphones to be all they can be, in any professional music environment. While the DT990 were fully opened back, perfect for critical listening, and the DT 880 PRO were ideal for reference monitoring and mastering, the DT 770 was aimed specifically to those who are interested in studio and stage performance monitoring.
