Sony MDRZX110 ZX Series Stereo Headphones

Sony MDRZX110 ZX Series Stereo Headphones Review

Introduction

When it comes to headphones, you’re looking for three factors to come into play.Build quality, sound quality and features. Will the Sony MDRZX headphones measure up to the competition and provide value for money?

Build Quality & Design

The headphones are smaller than they look in the product description picture. The earpieces fold compactly into a neat U-like or horseshoe shape, but the build has a flimsy plastic feel and will not take severe abuse. The headband feels as though it would snap rather easily.

The padding is synthetic leather and reasonably comfortable for listening sessions. The top band tends to squeeze down on the top of the head, and loosening them does not help since the weight of them – still light at under 5 ounces – makes them fall down when you lean back. The ear padding itself is soft and comfortable, though, and the earpiece is slightly angled to fit the head naturally.

Sennheiser Momentum On Ear Headphone

Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Headphones Review

Winner of the What HiFi Award in 2013, Sennheiser Momentum is a promising set of on-ear headphones that impresses from the outset. The Momentum headphones come to fill a gap in Sennheiser’s excellent range of critically acclaimed headphones, and they do this well. These stylish on-ear headphones would tempt even the most fashion-forward audiophile to try them on for size.

Made of premium materials, including stainless steel, alcantara and leather, Momentum On-Ear is a headset in a class of its own. Available in a range of vibrant colours, Momentum On Ear was created to match any outfit and to suit personal tastes and style splendidly. Connectland Stereo Headset

Connectland Stereo Headset 40 mm Speaker Review

Introduction

With a product that can be described as colorful at the very least, the Connectland stereo headset bounces onto the headphone market. Are they all color and style? Or do they provide the goods as well?

Build Quality & Design

These headphones really stand out when it comes to design. The first aspect that hits you is the color. They are very noticeable.

Coming in such options as teal, purple and yellow, you can be sure that you’ll cut a unique figure whilst sporting a pair of these headphones.

This brings me to a major talking point when it comes to this product. Are they aimed at adults or children?

They certainly aren’t the biggest headphones on the market, and I have absolutely no doubt that many adults will find them to be too small and uncomfortable.

The color schemes available tend to add credence to the idea that these headphones are primarily aimed at children.

Maxell AMP-B Amplified Heavy Bass Headphones

Maxell AMP-B Amplified Heavy Bass Headphones Review

Introduction

With a brand name that is well known in the audio industry, Maxell provide their latest offering into the budget-range headphones market. Are they relying on their reputation seeing them through? Or are the AMP-B’s the real deal?

Build Quality & Design

When it comes to design, this model from Maxell is certainly eye catching. A blue tribal- style design on top of a black base certainly gives these headphones a unique look, but that may very well work against them, depending on the customer.

For example, an adult who is looking for headphones to wear on their commute to work in the morning may not appreciate the design. It screams alternative teenager at you and that may very well be the audience they’re marketing this product towards. If so, then it could be considered a great touch.

Aside from the color scheme the headphones have ear-pads that swivel, accommodating any budding DJ’s out there, and this feature also allows you to pack them flat when they aren’t in use.

The cord appears to be fashioned from pretty tough rubber, and the headphone jack is of a gold-plated style. Tangling and wire-splitting shouldn’t really be a problem here.

Bluedio HT Shooting Brake Bluetooth Headphones

Bluedio HT (shooting Brake) Bluetooth Headphones Review

Introduction

Bluedio are perhaps not the most recognisable brand name when it comes to the headphone market, but they’re making moves to change that perception. How does their HT wireless Bluetooth offering measure up?

Build Quality & Design

The first thing you’ll notice when removing these headphones from the box, is that they look ever so slightly different to how they appear in their marketing and promotional images.

They look a lot duller and more plastic than they do online. This has been a bit of a sticking point with some people who claim that they’ve been “duped” somewhat. I’m not sure I agree entirely with that line of thinking, but I do agree that the online images add a certain shine to the headphones that they simply don’t have in reality. If looks are something you consider really important, then this is something you’ll want to consider before spending your money on them.

The headphones are surprisingly light and the soft faux leather ear cushions are comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time.
